“I don’t sugarcoat stuff. My name’s not Willy Wonka.”Jon, to just about every client
Jon’s clients tend to hear that line early, and it’s the most accurate sentence on this page. He’ll tell you what a house is actually worth, what the inspection actually means, and whether the timeline in your head is realistic. It’s also the thing clients thank him for most.
Jon came to real estate from the classroom. He spent his career teaching music: first as a middle and high school band director, then teaching college and adult continuing education while in grad school, and finally as an elementary music teacher. He collected three master’s degrees along the way. What finally moved him was the repetition. As the only music teacher in a building of 700 kids, he taught the same lesson five days a week. He wanted work where no two days matched, and where the best part of teaching still applied: taking something complicated and explaining it until it makes sense.
He never really stopped. Jon is Director of Education at LIME Realty and a co-founder and lead instructor at The New School of Real Estate, where he trains other agents and has built systems now used across Oklahoma. Put plainly, the person walking you through your contract is the one who teaches other agents how to read theirs.
Since 2022 he’s helped around 35 families buy and sell, a number of them more than once. He’s at his best with people who want the truth and may need their hand held to get there. First-time buyers who’ve been made to feel unwelcome somewhere else are the ones he most likes to prove wrong. He’s sat at a closing table watching a couple cry who’d been told a year earlier that they had no business looking.
Jon grew up in Yukon, spent fifteen years in Norman, and moved back home in 2020. Outside of work he’s with his labs Louis and Birkin, out on the golf course, planning the next trip (25 countries and four continents so far, with all 50 states on the list), or at a Thunder game or an OKC Philharmonic concert.
Work with Jon and you can count on him to be completely honest with you, even when the conversation isn’t a pleasant one.

The question he asks every buyer
“We can make the numbers work. But does this house feel like home? If it doesn’t feel like home now, it never will.”
Off the clock
25 countries, four continents, and always glad to come home to Oklahoma.

At home
Two labs: Louis (chocolate) and Birkin (yellow). Plus as much time as possible with his two god babies, Kendall and Lincoln.
On the course
Golf is Jon’s favorite way to spend a free afternoon. If you can’t reach him on a sunny day, check the nearest fairway (and look for the unicorn club cover).
Jon’s OKC
- Stitch Coffee
- Empire Slice House
- Myriad Botanical Gardens
- Lyric Theatre and touring musicals
- OKC Philharmonic and Thunder games
Why he tells people to move here
The Oklahoma Standard is real. People here are genuinely kind and look out for each other, there’s room to make your own mark, and the cost of living is lower than most of the country.
